Man City’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth, coupled with Liverpool’s Merseyside derby slatemate at Everton, have seen Pep Guardiola’s champions reclaim top spot with nine games to go.
Liverpool are just a point behind City in the table, but can extend that to four on Saturday if they beat Watford – piling the pressure on Liverpool to beat Burnley at Anfield on Sunday.
Watford have won three of their last five games to sit eighth in the table, though Man City have won their last five League outings to retake top spot.
The Hornets will certainly test Guardiola’s side, but City seem focused and their Catalan coach will surely not allow them to slip up at home.
Kevin First State Bruyne won’t be offered for Manchester town once they host Watford within the Premier League on weekday evening.
The Belgique international came off within the half of last weekend’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth with another injury, and he won’t feature in Saturday’s game.
City will extend their lead over Liverpool at the highest of the table to four points with a win against Watford, golf stroke the pressure on the Reds to beat Burnley in their game on Sunday.
And Guardiola has been affected with Watford this season, saying: “It’s unbelievable what he [Javi Gracia] has done,
they need everything – improbably unionized, the manager is unbelievable what he has done this season, to date they bring home the bacon heaps of points.
