Southampton welcome Aston Villa to St Mary’s on Saturday within the Premier League, with each side looking to steer themselves faraway from the relegation zone.

Aston Villa have taken just eight points from 39 on the road this season, but may fancy their chances against the team with the league’s worst home record.

Southampton’s stellar away form has carried them on the brink of safety, but Villa would be three points behind them with a win at St Mary’s.

Southampton are going to be without Nathan Redmond, sidelined for a minimum of a month,

while Sofiane Boufal and loanee Kyle Walter-Peters also miss out.

For the visitors, defender Tyrone Mings is out there again after missing the defeat to Spurs with tonsillitis.

A Bjorn Engels error allowed Heung-Min Son to seal the win, but Villa also showed some good attacking play and still scored twice against one among the league’s best sides.
