Liverpool beat Blackburn 6-0 in behind-closed-doors friendly at Anfield
Liverpool’s preparations for the return of the Premier League received a lift on Thursday as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Blackburn Rovers 6-0 at Anfield.

Rovers were guests of the Premier League leaders during a behind-closed-doors friendly,

and Liverpool easily ignored the Championship club with a robust win.

Naby Keita, Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip were all on the scoresheet, with academy hopefuls Ki-Jana Hoever and Leighton Clarkson also scoring.

Klopp’s men return to Premier League action on Sunday evening within the Merseyside derby,

with Everton and Liverpool getting the green light to play at Goodison Park.

A local Safety Advisory Group comprising representatives from both clubs, Liverpool council ,

Merseyside Police and fan unions have given their support to the fixture going ahead within the city.

Providing Manchester City do no drop points reception to Arsenal next Wednesday,

Liverpool need just two wins to verify themselves as champions for the primary time since 1990.
